Stephanie Cotta Photography Newborn workshop!

Posted on July 22, 2013. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , |

This past spring I was lucky enough to attend a workshop with Stephanie Cotta Photography. I knew I had a lot to learn about proper (and safe!) posing techniques with newborns. I had been waiting for a newborn workshop that was a good ‘fit’ for me and this was it. This workshop was more information than I ever could have learned on my own. It takes a lot of practice to get these poses down and Stephanie walked through each pose with us and was so incredibly patient & sweet. I have to say, I was in complete awe watching her. She is definitely the ‘baby whisperer’. Stephanie was a complete open book with us and answered each and every question. I’m normally someone who has a million questions about everything, but I don’t think I had one at the end of the day. She went through EVERYTHING- so much information…all the tips & tricks to get those sleepy newborns:) ┬áThen to top it off, she included her newborn posing guide┬áthat is also a detailed step by step process of her poses.

One of the best parts of the day was getting to meet Stephanie and the other extremely talented photographers who attended the workshop. After the workshop ended, I have been able to stay in contact with all of them who remain so supportive and helpful. I think in some way, we are all in daily contact with each other- either by offering support, critiques or ideas. The following pictures were all taken at the workshop. Styled and posed by Stephanie Cotta Photography. Shot & edited by me:) Sarah Ready Photography

This was one of the best investments I have made. It was definitely a little get away for me and time to focus on learning and stepping up my game:) Hope you enjoyed…

My blog is finally here! Is it spring yet?

Posted on March 31, 2013. Filed under: Family | Tags: , , , |

I’m hoping to start getting my ‘blog’ on and post a little about some of my favorite sessions. This blog is a huge work in progress for me but I feel that it’s a necessary outlet that I need to start utilizing. After each session I find myself saying “that was my favorite”. I’ve been so lucky to have such sweet (and beautiful) friends to support me and help me continue to learn and grow. Along the way, I’ve made some new friendships which has been one of the best parts of photography. Life continues to throw me curveballs and just when I need a ‘pick me up’ there seems to be someone stepping in at just the right time.

It’s important to me to share with everyone why I started this photography journey. Normally, I’m a pretty private person but I’ll hopefully get to that in a future post. For now, I want to share a few pic’s of two of my favorite little guys. This weekend I’ll be visiting my sister and am also attending a workshop with Stephanie Cotta. I.can’t.wait! I’ve been counting down for this weekend for a while. It also happens to be a big birthday weekend for my sister and I. I’m pretty excited about catching up with my sister, having my niece give me a lesson on instagram and twitter (shoutout to Emily:)) and getting out of town for a few days with my boys. My son, Camden, has asked me 30 times today “When are we going to Efan’s (his cousin Ethan) house?” It’s those little things that get me every time. Hopefully my next post will be about my trip to St. Louis and a few peeks of the sessions I had over spring break this week. I couldn’t be more excited about spring being here. Now only if we could have warmer weather…I feel like it must be coming soon.

*Fyi…this is my random, unedited thoughts that I needed to get out to get this blog going! Thanks for stopping by!
